the shock on an sx trail is essintially just a bog stock dhx5, the difference is the length of the rebound eyelet (the bottom part that has the rebound adjuster on) its 6mm longer, this is because of the design of the frame as the spring collar can foul the linkage on full compression, also on the sx the dhx 5 has a pre charged piggyback (nitrogen gas at around 150psi) meaning they have no air valve as again it can cause fouling issues depending on which shock mount is used also due to the frame desigh on either shock shuttle you can not fit a shock you would not be able to fit a shock pump on without removing the shock (or at least the front mount) as for the dhx air, you could fit a 222 eye to eye shock with 2.75 inch stroke and get the same travel, but it would lower the bottom bracket and slacken the head angle. or mojo may be able to make one to fit correctly. hope thats of some help.....
